Our Megha Special Combo comes with three special produce of Zizira that are directly and naturally sourced from the terrain of Meghalaya.
This combo is packed with these three amazing products:
Lakadong Turmeric is a special variety of turmeric from a place called ‘Lakadong’, in Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya. It is known for its medicinal qualities, as the Curcumin content in it is between 7 to 9%, which is one of the highest, as against 2 to 3% in most varieties of turmeric.
Well, Curcumin is a component that is present in all the different types of turmeric and it is the special essence which gives turmeric it's bright yellow colour along with its incredible medicinal properties. Curcumin content determines the value of turmeric. So, the higher the curcumin level the higher is its value.
Zizira wants to ensure that the price you pay for each of our Lakadong turmeric products is worth it. These are the list of things we follow:
Our Lakadong turmeric can last for twelve months if it is properly stored. The powder does not get spoilt, but it will start to lose its potency with time and will not flavour or show its benefits as intended.
Natural honey that is directly collected from the dense forests of Mawsynram where the flora is in abundance. Our Mawsynram honey is provided to us by our partnered beekeeper, Kong Elvira who hails from Thieddieng village in Mawsynram.
The people in the village use traditional beehives to rear the bees. They make use of wooden logs called ‘Ksing’ where the bees reside. The bees are collected from the dense forests and are kept inside the ‘Ksing’ for a few months.
The beehives are checked from time to time to ensure that they are busy and working and that the surrounding area is clean and healthy.
Besides the traditional beehive or ‘Ksing’, boxes that are provided by the government are also used but they are not that durable so, Kong Elvira have constructed cement covers for the boxes that last them for many years.
If your honey bottle is solidified or has a creamy texture. It means you are witnessing a natural process called “Crystallization” which is perfectly normal for raw and pure honey.
It is a natural and uncontrolled process that happens when the glucose (or sugar content) in honey loses water and takes the form of crystals which is due to change in temperature. Other kinds of honey that are available in the market undergo a heating process known as pasteurization to maintain the consistency of the honey. This method can make it stay liquified for a long period, but it reduces the nutrients in it. So, observing a sign of crystallization in your honey indicates that it is not processed and is raw.
A simple way to decrystallize it is by keeping the jar in warm water or keeping it under the sun before its utilization.

Did you know, Zizira honey crystallizes quickly within 3-4 weeks after extraction and bottling? Do you know why? It is a popular misconception that crystallization of honey is a sign of poor quality and adulteration. In reality, crystallization is a sign of good quality honey. It happens because of the natural chemical composition of honey. Honey has carbohydrates, and carbohydrates contain glucose and fructose. Water holds glucose and fructose together to form a suspension, which is why we get the smooth drippy texture of honey. Glucose is less soluble in water compared to fructose. If the honey contains more glucose than fructose, it will crystallize faster than the honey which contains more of fructose. Another factor which causes crystallization is 'temperature.' The colder the climate, the faster honey crystallizes. Hence, if your honey crystallises, you should be happy because it is a sign that the honey is pure, raw and unpasteurized. I'll share with you, how to decrystallize honey soon. 😊 #honey #bees #bee #beekeeping #madu #honeybee #honeycomb #beekeeper #love #nature #honeybees #rawhoney #food #maduasli #natural #beehive #k #healthyfood #skincare #healthy #organic #miel #foodie #purehoney #miele #beekeepers #apiary #homemade
Raw honey does not expire but the crystallization process can change the colour and taste of the honey which is a natural process that can easily be resolved.
Lakadong Mirch is a blend that helps you escape the snacking habit and increase metabolism. It is a composition of flavorful ingredients such as Lakadong turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, Szechuan, bhut jolokia and stevia. As the name suggests, “Mirch” is due to the presence of Bhut jolokia which has a high capsaicin content that makes the chilli extremely hot.
The ingredients in the blend are directly and naturally sourced from the traditional farmers of Meghalaya who loves to serve you and us the best.
Note: The blend can form a slimy or sticky texture when it is mixed with a liquid.

So how do you take it? ✔️Add 1/3 tsp of Lakadong Ker in cup ✔️Add 250ml warm milk or water ✔️Stir for a minute ✔️Add your choice of sweetener (honey, sugar, jaggery) ✔️Use a sieve if you don’t prefer consuming it ✔️Serve warm.
