A recipe you must try

Black Sesame Pot Potatoes


  • 5 potatoes cut
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • ¼ of a cup of black sesame seeds
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ of a teaspoon of Lakadong turmeric
  • ¼ of a teaspoon of szechuan pepper
  • 5 tablespoons of oil (any kind of oil)
  • ½ a teaspoon of ginger


  • Heat the vegetable oil. Once heated, let the oil cool down and add your black sesame, garlic and ginger, give it a good stir.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric to the sesame mixed paste and stir.
  • Add half a cup of water to the paste, then cover and let it simmer for another 2/3 mins
  • Once you smell the aroma coming from the sesame paste, its time to add the potatoes.
  • Give all ingredients a good mix, add salt, and pour 2/3 cups of water until it covers the potatoes.
  • Close the lid and let your potatoes simmer for 15/20 mins.
  • Wait until the waters reduce to two-thirds and add the mash Sichuan pepper to the potatoes. Stir gently as to avoid breaking the potatoes.
