1 bunch spring onion finely chopped for garnishing
Instruction:
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan.
Once the oil is hot, add in 1 chopped onion, 2 cloves of chopped garlic, 2 teaspoons of Lakadong Mirch and 1 teaspoon of cumin or jeera.
Saute for about 1 minute on low heat.
Turn up the heat to medium and add 2 sweet potatoes that have been cut into chunks. and stir everything together.
Add in 2 cups of black dal.
Add water to the pan and bring the liquid to boil and add some salt to taste, then reduce the heat, cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or more till the lentils are tender.
Taste and adjust the seasoning accordingly and then add your leafy vegetable of choice.
Finally, cut up some spring onions to garnish your dish!
