You can never go wrong with this foolproof and delicious yellow rice recipe!
Rice - 1 cup
Lakadong Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
Ing Makhir Ginger - 1 teaspoon
Hot water - 2 cups
Onion - 1
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Oil - 3 tablespoons
Bay leaves - 2
Pre- heat water and keep it ready.
In a pot, pour 3 tablespoons of oil.
Let it heat up and fry onions that have been sliced till they caramelize. Remove some to garnish on the top later.
Bring down the heat and add turmeric, ing makhir ginger and bay leaves. Saute for about 1 minute
Add washed rice and salt, mix to combine the rice the spices and the onions.
Add two cups of hot water.
Cook on high heat and then lower to medium when the water level has reduced.
Make sure you cover the lid and cook for about 20 - 25mins.
Make sure to give it a stir at least once in between.
