Garo sticky rice ‘Minil’ is an aromatic and mildly sweet rice, full of starch and fibre content. Although known as glutinous rice it is actually gluten-free. The high content of starch, amylopectain fills your stomach early on so you can eat less but stay full. It has a unique delicious scent and rich nutty flavour. The sticky rice is an opaque short grain, low in amylase giving it exceptional binding qualities. Its stickiness is perfect for making sushi rolls and for baking gluten-free desserts. The sticky rice can be soaked, dried and grounded into fine particles and use it as thickener for soup and gravies. It is traditionally used to make snacks like Pita, Sakkin, Jakep and Mi’ bitchi (traditional rice beer).
